23.5 x 16cm, 2pp. Black on cream “composer’s notes for various new music works including the premier of Feldman’s Vertical Thoughts, The Straits of Magellan, For Franz Kline, The Swallows of Salangan all by Feldman and Brown’s December 1952, Pentathis, Available Forms I and the premier of From Here – all written by the composers.
On October 11, 1963, the Foundation for Contemporary Performance Arts held its first publicly sponsored event. The performance, “Music of Orchestra and Chorus by Morton Feldman and Earle Brown,” was conceived of by Foundation co-founder John Cage as an opportunity for Feldman and Brown to present four works for a large ensemble. This is a scarce documentation for the event and has a contemporaneous pencil note “Wxxxx (unreadable) at slow tempi and with long rests & durations” in an unknown hand.
Previously folded and some sun damage to left of the front but a wealth of information about this event and rare.
