25 x 25cm, 16pp, original wrappers and die cut transparent dust jacket (which has a yellow tinge to make the front cover resemble a stained glass window – designed by Brattinga for the publication). The fifteenth of the Kwadraat-Bladen books produced by Pieter Brattinga for Hilversum Jong & Co as a way to promote their high-end printing business. The book is a treatise on architecture by William Katavolos who creates buildings and other design items influenced by natural forms and “natural chemistry”. There are twelve reproduced sketches by Katavolos and texts by the designer in Dutch, English and French which reference the break through exhibition “Visionary Architecture” from New York MOMA in 1960. One additional sheet explaining the Kwadraat-Blad project as well as introducing the architect is laid in. VG+. Scarce.
