20.4 x 15cm, 12pp (self cover). Printed on very thick card. The book reproduces five double page images from the artist's very early 1969 film L'homme qui tousse - where the artist is disguised as a mannequin (with paper mache head and in rags) in a derelict room and is clearly unwell - vomiting and coughing.

Milano: Charta, Date: 2002
24 x 17cm, 72pp plus picotiral card covers. Monograph cum exhibition catalogue on the occasion of a major installation by the artist in the Palermo Monte di Pieta. Vestments are hung with images of faces on them, a shadow play installation, a floor covered in flowers and the wonderful wooden walls of the building with various commemorative portraits surrounded by bulbs and their associated wiring are reproduced in b/w and colour at the back of the catalogue preceeded by a text by Sergio Troisi in English and Italian. Paris: Point d'ironie/Agnes b, 2002
43.4 x 30.7cm, 8pp, A single number of the artist's periodical which invites a single artist to create an artist's book. This is one of two such publications by Boltanski in the series - he also did number 50 8 years later. The pages of the tabloid do not register other than a general shape when looked at in isolation but when one opens up the pages and conjoins the sheets one can see an appropriated vintage b/w photograph of an unidentified man and a woman. Folded for storage else VG+. Somewhat scarce despite the large edition size of 10,000 copies.

Koln: Walther Koenig, 2002
15 x 22cm, 20pp plus original boards. Ten sheets of card which has a number of disturbing images that have been overprinted with a silver ink that can (if desired) be rubbed off to see the photographs below.
This example is unscratched - and in mint condition. It is also one of a small number of copies that were signed on the back cover by Boltanski in black felt tipped pen.

Koln/Dessau: Walter Konig/ Anhaltische Gemaldegalerie, 2001 25.5 x 20.5cm, 208pp plus boards. First edition of this artist's book with 101 images (collaged from xerox images by Boltanski) and texts in French, German and English from people who knew Boltanski printed opposite to the images on some pages. The pages with the images are printed on semi-opaque paper and backed by black blank sheets to cause a ghostly effect. As ever the images in the collages are taken from the artist's own collection of vintage photographs usually found in flea markets and in unidentified photo-albums.
Published in conjunction with an exhibition at the Anhaltische Gemäldegalerie, Dessau, Nov. 2001-Jan. 2002. VG+.

WITNESS. 10.5 x 14.5cm, 32 2pp postcards bound as a book with wrap around cover. Each card in b/w displaying shots of the public installations "Witness" - enlarged eyes on posters around the city.
REVENIR. 42 x 29.8cm, 4pp artist's book (magazine) consisting of a group photograph of young men (possibly a sport club) and three enlarged faces from the photograph. Folded to fit the box.
UNTITLED (CHINESE PORTRAIT). 42 x 29.8cm, 4pp artist's book (magazine) consisting of a double sheet image of the enlarged eyes and two enlarged faces which appear to be Chinese faces. Folded to fit the box.
Two booklets - CHINESE PORTRAIT/ PORTRAIT CHINOIS- each 18 x 12.5c, 32pp. Text only in English and French with a short text by curator Magdalena Abakanowicz. The work WITNESS is briefly discussed with Boltanski placing the works around the city when he realised there was very little in the way of record of the Warsaw Ghetto.
UNTITLED - eight sheets - each 30 x 21cm, folded and bound together by a paper band - text in Polish. One sheet has some recent b/w portraits of the artists.

BOLTANSKI. 20 x 14.5cm, unpaginated (c. 48pp) printed on semi-opaque and opaque papers with some of the sheets fold outs. Minimal text with full colour images of the various works exhibited in the show. Hard printed boards.
An extensive exhibition catalogue with artist's booiks/publications included. VG++ condition and somewhat hard to find.
